In our ICT workshop, we compared the features of Textease to the Microsoft Word Document. We needed to see which was better equipped to complete a range of tasks aimed at primary children. I chose to complete the Calligram task, where I had to make words look like a visual image and create a representation of the word.
For Example;
I decided to try the task on the more challenging programme, Microsoft Word; as it is not designed for children. I have to say, I found it very difficult. There were little colour and design options to use. I looked at how other people were getting on with the Textease programme and it provided much more design features, making the task simpler.
It defiantly showed the advantages of Children' orientated software. I could see a primary student giving up on the Calligram task if trying to complete it on a Word Document . . . like I almost did.
